What’s your internet service provider, and what speeds are you currently getting?

I’m moving to Melbourne soon, and I’m a bit concerned about Australia’s internet speeds compared to other developed countries. Is it possible to get at least 150 Mbps for home internet?

  1. It’s understandable to be concerned about internet speeds when moving to a new country! In Melbourne, there are several ISPs that offer a range of plans with varying speeds. Major providers like Telstra, Optus, TPG, and iiNet often have plans that can provide speeds of 150 Mbps or even higher, especially if you’re able to get a Fiber to the Home (FTTP) connection.

While there have been concerns about internet performance in Australia in the past, many areas, especially in cities like Melbourne, have access to high-speed broadband options. Just be sure to check the availability of plans in the specific area you are relocating to, as speeds can vary based on location, type of connection (ADSL, cable, fiber), and the specific plan you choose.

It’s a good idea to research local reviews and compare different plans to find one that suits your needs. With the right provider and plan, you should be able to get at least 150 Mbps! Safe travels and enjoy your new home!
