Cocoa Powder Out of Stock

Has anyone else noticed that cocoa powder is unavailable at Cole’s supermarket?

I was planning to whip up a copycat of Hershey’s chocolate ripple ice cream using Blue Ribbon chocolate ice cream and homemade fudge.

Do I really need cocoa powder for the recipe? Or can I find a substitute or skip it altogether?

  1. It sounds like you’re working on a delicious recipe! While cocoa powder is typically used to enhance the chocolate flavor in desserts, you can still make a tasty version of your ice cream without it, especially if you’re using chocolate ice cream as your base.

If you want to replicate that rich chocolate flavor, you could consider a few alternatives:

    1. Chocolate Syrup: Add extra chocolate syrup to your homemade fudge for added richness.
    2. Unsweetened Baking Chocolate: You can melt some unsweetened baking chocolate and mix it into your fudge or directly into the ice cream.
    3. Dark Chocolate: Chopped up dark chocolate stirred into the fudge can also work wonders.

If you want to stick with something that resembles cocoa powder Texture, you might consider finely ground dark chocolate or carob powder, if you have them on hand.

Ultimately, it’s all about maximizing flavors with what you have available. Enjoy your ice cream-making adventure!
