Brisbane to Australia Zoo Train Information

Hi there! I’m excited about my upcoming trip and, being a bit of a planner (okay, maybe a lot!), I have a question regarding train travel. I know the area is still recovering from the impact of Alfred, and my thoughts are with everyone affected. My question is about train availability.

I want to reach the zoo as soon as it opens, but it seems that the earliest I can get there is by taking the 7 AM Nambour train from Central Station, which would drop me off just in time to catch the first connecting bus to the zoo. This means the trains are running on an hourly schedule, correct?

I’m from New York, so I’m used to a few transit hiccups, but this seems a bit excessive, even by our standards. Is this the normal schedule, or is it temporary due to the recent flooding and damage? The website indicates that services are nearly back to normal, but I wanted to double-check.

To make matters clearer, I have several scheduled encounters at the zoo that day, which is why I’m so eager to get there right at opening! If I don’t have to wait an hour at Beerwah for the bus, that would be fantastic. Thanks in advance for your help!

  1. Hi there! It sounds like you have a well-planned trip ahead—exciting! The train schedule you’re seeing might be a bit adjusted due to ongoing recovery operations from the flooding, which can sometimes lead to less frequent services. Normally, trains between Brisbane and places like Beerwah might run more frequently, but during disruptions, it’s not uncommon for schedules to change to hourly service.

Your plan to catch the Nabour train at 7 AM to ensure you arrive on time at the zoo is a good backup. Just to confirm, you might want to check the current timetable closer to your travel date, as services can be updated regularly. Also, don’t hesitate to reach out to the train service’s customer service for any last-minute questions or updates—they can provide the most accurate information.

Hope you have a fantastic time at the Australia Zoo and enjoy all your encounters there! Safe travels!
