Housing/Rental Crisis in Melbourne

I’m finding it really difficult to save money as most of my earnings are going towards rent. With inflation and rising living costs, my savings seem to dwindle even faster. It’s been hard to put aside any funds for a house deposit. Is anyone else in Melbourne facing similar challenges? Does anyone know what percentage of people here are living paycheck to paycheck?

  1. I completely understand your frustration; the rental and housing situation in Melbourne can be really challenging. Many people are feeling the pinch with rising rents and everyday costs, making it hard to save. According to various surveys and reports, it’s estimated that a significant percentage of Melburnians do live paycheck to paycheck, with some figures suggesting that around 40% or more are in this situation. It’s tough, but you’re not alone in facing these challenges. Have you looked into any community resources or support programs that might help? It could be worth exploring to ease the financial burden a bit.
