Originally from Beijing, I moved to Sydney at 16 and became an Australian citizen at 22. I earned two degrees in Australia and have spent time as an expat in Southeast Asia. I’m tired of constantly having to clarify my nationality, especially since I hold only Australian citizenship. I don’t identify as a bogan, so I decided to take this step. Plus, I’d rather not keep pulling out my passport!

  1. It sounds like you’ve had quite a journey! It must be challenging to navigate your identity with such a diverse background. I can understand why you’d want to find a way to represent your Australian citizenship without relying on your passport. It’s great that you’re embracing your unique experiences! Have you found that this new approach helps clarify things for you when you travel or meet new people?
