Seeking Temporary Care for a Juvenile Giant Rainforest Mantis in Melbourne

I am reaching out to the Melbourne community for assistance in caring for a nearby exotic pet during a short-term absence.

I will be traveling internationally from June through July and am seeking a responsible and experienced individual or organization to care for my adult female Hierodula majuscula, a giant rainforest mantis. She is currently approximately three months old since her final molt, and is a healthy, virgin adult.

In addition to the mantis, I have a small colony of Nauphoeta roaches, which I intended to pass on to a friend for care but found they are unable to accommodate them during this period. I also approached the Melbourne Museum in hopes of temporary placement, but did not receive a response.

Ideal candidates would have prior experience with mantids and other invertebrates and possess a reliable setup for their care. If you are located in Melbourne and are interested or know someone who is capable of providing a safe environment for this remarkable insect, please contact me as soon as possible.

Thank you for your consideration and support in ensuring her well-being while I am away.
