Mod Announcement – Policy Update Regarding the Upcoming “March for Australia” Event (31 August 2025)

In preparation for the upcoming protests scheduled across Australia on 31 August 2025, under the banner of “March for Australia,” we wish to inform the community of important policy updates.

Recent evidence indicates that the event’s organizers have documented connections to the National Socialist Network, a neo-Nazi organization. Over the past week, promotional content related to the event has predominantly been shared by accounts that also spread extremist white nationalist material. It is important for community members to be aware of these associations.

Effective immediately, any content promoting or supporting this event is strictly prohibited on r/aussie. This includes posts, comments, or any form of communication that endorses the march. Such content will be removed promptly, and repeat offenders may face bans to maintain a safe and respectful environment.

r/aussie is dedicated to fostering open dialogue and considering diverse perspectives. While we support free speech and robust debate, it is essential to clarify that this does not extend to endorsing or enabling extremism. We maintain a firm stance against neo-Nazi ideologies, terrorism, and any form of hate speech or sympathies towards such causes. This policy applies to all forms of communication, including euphemisms, coded language, or tactics designed to obscure intent.

Our primary goal is to ensure that r/aussie remains a space for constructive, respectful discussion and to prevent the spread of harmful ideologies within our community.
