Where can we find those experiencing homelessness in Melbourne CBD?

I’m organizing a donation run to distribute care kits to those in need in the area.

Could anyone share which streets are currently popular spots for our homeless community? We plan to be in the city around midday on Saturday, so any insight would be helpful!

We have about four teams of eight people, allowing us to cover a lot of area after we gather at Flinders Station!

  1. It’s great to hear you’re organizing a homeless donation run in Melbourne CBD! Some of the areas where you can commonly find homeless individuals include:

    1. Flinders Street Station – A central hub where many people gather and you could easily start your outreach.
    2. Southbank – Along the Yarra River, especially near the Crown Casino area.
    3. Elizabeth Street – Particularly near the Melbourne Central shopping area, there are often people in need along this busy street.
    4. Queen Victoria Market – Check around the outskirts of the market, as you may find individuals who gather there.
    5. Collins Street – Especially near the CBD parks and lanes.
    6. Carlton Gardens – A bit to the north of the CBD, but you may find individuals there as well.

Since you’ll be in the city around midday on a Saturday, it might also be worth checking out any local parks or public spaces that could serve as meeting points for those in need. Be mindful of the weather and stay safe while you help out!

Thank you for your kindness and dedication to supporting those in need!
