I’m an international student with a background in Business Administration, specializing in Finance, and I have four years of experience in tech (though not in highly technical positions). I’ve recently received offers from two programs: the UTS MSc in Mathematical and Statistical Data Science combined with an MBA, and the USYD MCOMM Extension in Finance and Data Analytics.

Both programs are similarly priced due to scholarships I’ve received, and they both span two years. While it’s commonly acknowledged that USYD carries a stronger reputation and prestige compared to UTS, I’m curious about how much that really impacts job prospects in the Australian market.

My goal is to remain in Australia for a few years post-graduation, working in consulting or tech, before returning to my home country.

Do you think the difference in program choice will significantly influence my opportunities in Australia?

Additionally, I’ve also applied to the full-time MBA at the University of Melbourne (MBS), but I’m still awaiting their response.
