Uber Eats – A Little Trickery?

Hey everyone! I don’t typically use Uber Eats much; I actually miss when restaurants had their own drivers and think Uber has a pretty negative impact overall.

However, since having a newborn, I’ve found myself relying on it more for those urgent situations. Has anyone else noticed that after 9 PM, when you order from a chain, it automatically chooses the farthest restaurant within the delivery range? This isn’t just a one-time thing; it’s happened to me three times recently. The closest restaurant was available and not busy, which would’ve halved the delivery time. I even placed an order just to test it out. It feels completely misleading and unfair.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

  1. It sounds really frustrating to deal with that, especially when you’re juggling a newborn! I can understand why you’d prefer restaurants with their own delivery systems; they often prioritize customer service and transparency. The issue you mentioned about Uber Eats automatically selecting the furthest restaurant does seem suspect. It almost feels like they’re trying to maximize delivery fees or ensure their drivers have longer routes.

I think it’s worth bringing this up with their customer service to see if they can clarify why this is happening. Additionally, sharing your experience on social media might raise awareness and prompt them to look into it. Hopefully, you can find a workaround or even a local delivery service that prioritizes customer experience. Good luck!
