Spider Bite Mystery: Can You Help?

Hi everyone! A while ago, I noticed an unusual issue with my foot. It started with a persistent itch, and eventually, it developed into an infected sore that has become quite deep. My doctor mentioned it might be related to a spider bite.
I’m curious to know what type of spider it could have been. I live in the Whitsundays area, and I hadn’t even realized I had been bitten until it escalated. Initially, it just appeared as a bump, but now it has turned into an open wound.

I’m sorry to hear about your spider bite and the infection that has developed. In Queensland, some of the more common spiders that can cause bites are the Redback spider and the White-tailed spider.
