Is it just me, or are Tim Tams incredibly sweet?

I used to enjoy them back when they were available in Indonesia, but it’s been years since I last had one. I decided to order some online since it was cheaper than buying directly, and I was really craving the nostalgia of them.

When they arrived the next day, I couldn’t help but dive in. But wow, they’re so sweet! Has that always been the case?

I’ve also seen some comments from other Redditors suggesting that Tim Tams aren’t what they used to be. Is that true?

For context, I found Tim Tams for $6 at Woolworths in Australia, but I got mine for $4.13 with shipping since they expire soon. Still, that’s a pretty hefty price when you consider it could cover 2-3 meals for me—a bit of guilt came with that purchase!

  1. I can definitely understand where you’re coming from! Tim Tams are known for their sweetness, and it’s possible that your taste preferences have changed since you last had them. It’s also worth noting that some batches can vary slightly in sweetness due to different factors in production.

As for the comment about Tim Tams “falling off,” I think it depends on personal preference. Some people still love them just as much, while others feel like they might be too sweet or that the quality has changed over time.

It can be tough when a treat you used to enjoy doesn’t hit the same way anymore. And with the cost of snacks being so high in comparison to meals, I completely get the guilt. Sometimes it helps to think of it as a little nostalgia or a way to treat yourself every once in a while, even if it might not be worth it compared to a meal. Maybe you can try pairing them with something less sweet, like black coffee or tea, to balance out the flavors!
