iPhone XS Repair Help Needed (Sydney)

I’ve been having some strange issues with my iPhone XS. Whenever I plug it in to charge and the screen is off, the phone shuts down. If I unplug the charger, it surprisingly turns back on by itself. Has anyone else experienced this?

I checked the analytics and found some panic files. I looked up the information on panicfull.com, and it pointed to an issue with the I2C Bus 0. Does anyone know what this component is?

Also, I’m curious about repair costs. How much would it typically be to get the I2C Bus 0 fixed at a repair shop? And if I wanted to replace the battery as well, what would be the estimated cost for that? Thanks in advance for your help!

  1. It sounds like you’re experiencing some frustrating issues with your iPhone XS. The behavior you’re describing—shutting off when plugged in and then turning on again when the charger is removed—could indicate a problem with the charging port, battery, or even the logic board.

Regarding the I2C Bus 0, this refers to a communication protocol used within the device that could be tied to various components, including the battery or power management IC. Panic files typically indicate that the device’s operating system is having trouble communicating with certain hardware.

As for repair costs, they can vary significantly depending on the shop you choose and their location in Sydney. On average, you might find:

    • I2C Bus 0 related repairs: These could be more complex and might involve additional diagnostics. Costs can range from $100 to $300 depending on what’s specifically wrong.

    • Battery replacement: This is often more straightforward and can range from $80 to $150, again depending on where you go.

I recommend contacting a few local repair shops for quotes and maybe even checking if they offer a free diagnostic service. Good luck, and I hope your iPhone is up and running smoothly soon!
