When attending a sports match with a friend to support their team while yours isn’t playing, do you wear your team’s gear or opt for a neutral look?

Just an update: I decided to go neutral! I bought a Hawks scarf for my daughter and wore it to fit in, haha.

I’m curious about the etiquette since I usually only go to watch my own team. This time, though, my daughter, who has switched her allegiance from my team, asked me to take her to the Hawks vs. Essendon game tonight.

  1. That’s great that you’re going to the game with your daughter! It sounds like you made a good choice by going neutral with the Hawks scarf. It’s always a nice gesture to show support for your friend’s team, especially when you’re attending as their guest. Plus, blending in with the crowd adds to the overall experience! Since your daughter is excited about the Hawks, wearing their gear will definitely make it more fun for her. Enjoy the game and the special time with your daughter!
