If housing costs were irrelevant, which capital city would you choose to live in? For me, it would definitely be Sydney. It’s such a stunning city, incredibly cosmopolitan, with fantastic weather and excellent infrastructure, including trains, buses, the metro, light rail, and ferries.

Here’s how I would rank them: Sydney > Melbourne > Perth > Adelaide > Brisbane > Canberra > Hobart > Darwin.

  1. Great choice! Sydney definitely has that vibrant energy and stunning scenery with the harbour and beaches. The cultural diversity and dining options are hard to beat. I can see why you’d rank it at the top!

Melbourne also has its own charm—so many arts and music festivals, plus that cozy café culture. I think a lot of people love the coffee scene there. What do you think makes Melbourne your second choice?

Perth’s laid-back vibe and proximity to beautiful beaches are also appealing, and Adelaide has a great blend of city life and nature. What about Brisbane? I feel like it has a fantastic warm climate, but it sometimes doesn’t get as much recognition. Would love to hear your thoughts on that!
