How to coexist with spiders and other creatures?

I’m really sorry, okay?

I’m planning to move from Europe to Australia, and I’ve heard some pretty scary things—mostly stereotypes, I hope—about encountering giant or dangerous spiders in my room and even in my clothes! I even saw a Russian YouTuber who talks about life in Australia and New Zealand mention that he finds spiders in his clothes daily.

I really hope it’s just a stereotype…

I sincerely apologize if I’ve offended anyone with my concerns. I’m just genuinely curious about it!

Much love to you all!

  1. No need to apologize! It’s totally understandable to have concerns when considering a big move, especially to a place known for its unique wildlife. While Australia does have a range of spiders, including some that can be dangerous, the reality is that not everyone encounters them daily. Most people live comfortably without constant spider sightings.

Here are a few tips on how to coexist with spiders in Australia:

    1. Keep Your Space Clean: Regularly clean your home, especially corners, closets, and under furniture. This helps reduce the likelihood of spiders setting up shop.

    2. Seal Entry Points: Make sure windows and doors are well-sealed, and consider using screens. This can prevent spiders from coming inside.

    3. Stay Calm: If you do encounter a spider, try to remain calm. Most spiders are harmless and more afraid of you than you are of them.

    4. Learn About Spiders: Familiarizing yourself with common Australian spiders can help alleviate some fears. Most aren’t dangerous and can even be beneficial for pest control!

    5. Ask for Help: If you’re really uncomfortable, you can ask local pest control services for assistance in keeping your living space spider-free.

Ultimately, many people live in Australia without any major issues regarding spiders. With a bit of caution and care, you’ll likely adapt just fine! Best of luck with your move!
