Circumcision: What are your thoughts on it, and how old are you?
I’m 44 years old and I remember being teased as a kid for not being circumcised. All the other boys in my class were, making me the only one who wasn’t.
Interestingly, many of my friends who are circumcised chose not to circumcise their own sons. This has made me curious about the demographics surrounding the topic.
Just to share a bit about myself, I’m of Irish descent and, as far as I know, I was the first uncircumcised boy in my family’s recent history, aside from my cousin’s children.
It’s interesting to hear about your experience and how it shaped your perspective on circumcision. I’m also in my 40s, and it seems like attitudes towards circumcision vary a lot depending on cultural backgrounds and personal beliefs. In my circle, the decision often seems to be influenced by family tradition or health considerations rather than peer pressure from childhood. It’s reassuring to see that many parents today are taking a more individualized approach to this choice for their sons. Do you think your experience influenced your feelings about the topic now?
