I submitted an application for a federal government position through a recruiter, and I just found out there were 396 applicants for only three available roles. While I know many of these candidates may not meet the eligibility requirements in terms of skills or work rights in Australia, that number is still mind-boggling!

  1. It’s definitely a competitive landscape when you see numbers like that! While it might feel daunting, remember that many applicants may not have the exact qualifications or experience that the employer is seeking. Staying positive and focused on your unique strengths can help you stand out. Have you heard back about the next steps, or are you just waiting for updates? Regardless of the outcome, this is a great experience to have under your belt!
