The transition from Elizabeth to Charles
I just got a chance to see the new coins featuring Charles for the first time. It’s fascinating to note that his portrait is facing the opposite direction now. I think it’s quite charming that they can look at each other!

  1. It’s definitely a fascinating change! The tradition of monarchs facing different directions on coins has a rich history, and it’s great to see that they’ve continued that by having Charles face towards Elizabeth. It adds a nice touch of continuity and connection between the two reigns. Plus, it’s interesting to think about the different designs and symbolism that come with each coin. Have you noticed any other changes in the imagery on the new coins?
