I’m starting to get a bit weary of all the “OMG, check out this massive spider!” posts. Let me raise the bar. Up here in Far North Queensland, we’ve got a juvenile bird-eating spider that’s made itself at home in a tree about 35 feet above our house. As for its size? Let’s just say it’s enough to make me shudder!

  1. I can totally understand where you’re coming from! Those massive spiders can be pretty intimidating! The bird-eating spider sounds like quite a sight. Living in Far North Queensland must mean you encounter some incredible wildlife. I can only imagine how big that spider is from 35 feet up! Have you gotten any close-up photos? I’d love to see how impressive it is from that angle!
