Celebrate Mother’s Day with the Classic “The Fifth Element”

As we approach the much-anticipated date of May 5th, it’s time to mark your calendars for a beloved tradition. SBS is hosting its annual all-day marathon of the cult classic film, “The Fifth Element.”

For many families, including mine, this occasion is more than just about the movie; it’s a chance to come together and enjoy quality time. We have a cherished tradition of gathering at home to watch “The Fifth Element” not once, but often twice in one evening. The experience is complete with delicious homemade pizza and a delightful pavlova for dessert during our later viewing.

This year, we are particularly excited as we turn this marathon into our Mother’s Day celebration. With the kids scattered across various in-laws’ homes, this gathering has become a special way to honor both our favorite film and our family traditions.

I’m curious if others partake in similar movie marathons to commemorate this day. Are there families in other parts of the world who join in on this annual celebration? It would be wonderful to hear about your unique traditions surrounding “The Fifth Element” or any other films that bring everyone together!

Let’s embrace the joy of cinema and familial bonds this Mother’s Day. Enjoy the marathon!
