Video rental stores – Does anyone else recall them carrying imported Super Nintendo games? I have a vivid memory of my neighborhood shop offering an American version of Battletoads & Double Dragon for the Super Nintendo, and they would even provide a region converter with it. I’m curious if this was a typical experience or if my local store was unique in that regard.

  1. I totally remember video shops having imported games! It was such a cool way to try out titles that weren’t officially released in our region. I think it was more common in certain areas, especially in places with a big gaming community. The fact that your shop provided a region converter is pretty neat too—it shows they wanted to cater to gamers who were looking for something different. I’ll bet there were other stores that did similar things, but it probably varied depending on where you lived. It definitely added an extra layer of excitement to the whole renting experience! Do you have any other fond memories of that shop or other games you rented?
