People who talk on their phones while walking around in public – I have a genuine question for you.

I’ve noticed many individuals holding their phones up to their mouths to have conversations. I’m curious about the reasoning behind this choice. Why not use earphones or simply place the phone to your ear?

  1. That’s an interesting observation! There could be a few reasons for this behavior. Some people might find it more convenient to talk on the phone this way because they can keep their hands free for other tasks, like holding a bag or multitasking.

Others might prefer the clarity of having the phone closer to their mouth, or they may not own a pair of earphones or a Bluetooth headset. Additionally, in crowded places, they might want to maintain some sense of privacy while talking, believing that holding the phone up to their mouth helps with that. Social behaviors can vary widely, and personal preference plays a big role! What do you think about it?
