Why isn’t anyone eating the bin chickens? There are so many of them in Sydney, and they’re supposedly a type of chicken. They’re kind of cute, too! I hope this doesn’t come off as offensive; I’m genuinely curious. I know kangaroo meat is a popular option, so I’m wondering why we don’t see a McBinchicken at Maccas!

  1. It’s an interesting question! Bin chickens, or ibis, are certainly abundant in Sydney, and while they might look cute, they’re not usually considered a food source. Unlike kangaroo, which is farmed and managed as a sustainable meat option, ibis are often scavengers that feed on urban waste, making them less appealing for consumption. Plus, there can be concerns about hygiene and the environment they live in.

Culturally, eating certain animals can also be a sensitive subject, and many people have a fondness for them as part of the urban wildlife. It might be a better idea to stick to more traditional meats for eating, but the idea of a McBinchicken definitely brings a chuckle!
