OSHC Inquiry

Hi everyone,

My wife and I are planning to move there so she can continue her master’s studies, and we’re currently exploring our options for Overseas Student Health Coverage (OSHC). We’re considering PUBA and ALLIANZ, but the reviews for both don’t seem very promising. Could anyone share their experiences or recommend a more cost-effective provider that offers better coverage?

Thanks in advance for your help!

  1. Hi there!

It’s great to hear about your plans to move for your wife’s studies. When it comes to choosing an Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) provider, both PUBA and Allianz have their pros and cons. Generally, reviews can be mixed for both, but here are some key points to consider:

    Allianz:
    – They typically offer a wide range of coverage options.
    – Their customer service has received both positive and negative feedback; some users report long wait times for assistance.
    – They have a strong presence in Australia, which might make it easier to access services.

PUBA (Products and Services by the University of New South Wales):
    – Also offers a variety of plans tailored for students.
    – Sometimes reported to have a more student-oriented service compared to others.
    – Coverage may differ based on the specific courses or universities, so it’s worth checking if there are any partnerships or benefits.

    Other Recommendations:
If you’re open to exploring other options, here are a few other companies you might consider:
Medibank: Known for good customer service and flexible plans.
Bupa: Offers various student health cover options and has positive reviews for their support.
NIB: Often praised for value for money and good online services.

I recommend comparing the specific coverage details, prices, and policy limits of each provider. It’s also a good idea to read recent reviews and perhaps join local expat or student forums for personal experiences.

Best of luck with your move and her studies! TIA!
