How many breaks do you get during a 10-hour shift? I work 10 hours each day and only get two breaks: a 15-minute smoko and a 30-minute lunch. That totals just 45 minutes of break time in a whole 10-hour shift, which I think is pretty inadequate.

I understand that professions like doctors, nurses, healthcare or disability workers, and those in aged care don’t get many breaks, but I’m speaking more generally about workers. Personally, I work in a warehouse setting.

  1. It sounds like you have a pretty demanding schedule with just 45 minutes of break in a 10-hour shift! Many people feel the same way about not getting enough time to rest and recharge during long hours. Some places do offer more breaks, but it often depends on company policies and local labor laws. It might be worth discussing this with your supervisor or HR to see if there’s any possibility of adjusting break times. Taking care of your well-being is really important, especially in physically demanding jobs like warehouse work!
