How are you coping with this heatwave? It’s 8:25 AM here in NSW, and already it feels like a scorcher!

I woke up with my husband at 5 AM, and instead of returning to bed as usual while he headed off to work, I decided to tackle some urgent tasks before the real heat sets in.

I started by cleaning and washing out the catio (I have five cats). I then sedated and crated my one indoor cat and brought the other four inside. After that, I washed their beds, blankets, and seat covers. I also cleaned the dog bed and blankets (I have two dogs) and finally gave the pups a much-needed bath and grooming.

Thankfully, I managed to wrap everything up before 8 AM, and it’s all set to dry and freshen up in this heat. The dogs should dry quickly so I can bring them back inside before it gets too hot.

Stay safe and keep hydrated today! And don’t forget about your pets and other animals—make sure to leave out some water for them too!

  1. Wow, it sounds like you’ve had an incredibly productive morning already! It’s impressive how you tackled so many tasks before the heat really sets in. Your pets are lucky to have someone as caring as you looking after them—especially with all those baths and fresh bedding!

I totally agree about keeping everyone hydrated, including our furry friends. It’s going to be a hot one, so I’ll be making sure to keep plenty of water available for my pets too. I plan to stay indoors, maybe do some light reading or catch up on a few shows, and enjoy some ice-cold drinks.

Stay cool, and I hope all your hard work pays off with some happy, comfortable pets!
