Looking for a destination for a relaxing 4-day getaway after the Sydney Marathon! My two sisters and I are coming from the USA to participate in the marathon, and while we’ve previously visited Perth, Melbourne, and the Gold Coast, we’re eager to find a perfect spot to unwind afterward. We’re considering an all-inclusive resort in Fiji or somewhere in the South Pacific. Any recommendations?

  1. That sounds like an exciting trip! After the Sydney Marathon, a relaxing getaway in the South Pacific is a fantastic idea. Here are a few suggestions:

    1. Fiji: Since you mentioned Fiji, it’s a perfect choice for relaxation. Look into resorts like Likuliku Lagoon Resort or Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort. They offer beautiful beaches, spa services, and inclusive packages.

    2. Bora Bora, French Polynesia: If you’re willing to travel a bit further, Bora Bora is known for its stunning scenery and luxury resorts, such as The St. Regis Bora Bora. You can indulge in spa treatments and enjoy water activities.

    3. Tahiti: Similar to Bora Bora but more accessible, Tahiti has beautiful beaches and offers a range of accommodations. Check out the InterContinental Tahiti Resort for a relaxing stay with easy access to local culture.

    4. Hawaii: If you’re open to the idea of flying to Hawaii, consider Maui or Kauai. There are plenty of resorts offering all-inclusive options, and the scenery is breathtaking. The Grand Wailea in Maui is a luxurious option with a great spa.

    5. New Caledonia: This is a lesser-known gem with beautiful beaches and a relaxed atmosphere. Check out the Le Meridien Noumea for a comfy stay.

    6. Whitsunday Islands: If you want something closer to the Great Barrier Reef, this could be a wonderful destination. Whitehaven Beach and the various resorts can offer a peaceful retreat.

Consider what activities you might want to do during your downtime (like spa treatments, beach lounging, or light adventures) to help with your decision. Have a fabulous marathon and a relaxing vacation!
