Hey everyone! I’m a Canadian with dual citizenship in Australia and I’m planning to make the move down under next summer.
I have family in Perth, which gives me a bit of a safety net and I love the warmer weather. However, I keep coming across negative opinions suggesting that Perth isn’t as lively or active compared to cities like Melbourne, which are said to be much more dynamic and diverse.
This will be my first time living far away from familiar faces, and I’m starting to feel overwhelmed by the decision of where to settle.
I’m 22, very sociable, and I love being active. I’m looking to sail, swim, surf, cycle, and enjoy events, parties, and galas.
I’ve heard Melbourne’s weather can be a bit unpredictable, but as a Canadian from the East Coast, I’m unsure what to expect.
Is Melbourne truly the best spot for young adults? Will I be disappointed by the weather and the beaches?
