Can someone help me identify this Australian military patch?

Hi everyone! In 2015, I participated in Exercise Wallaby at Shoalwater Bay alongside the Singapore Armed Forces as a parachute rigger. During the exercise, I swapped patches with an Australian soldier and ended up with this patch featuring an eagle with wings spread on a multicam background.

I’ve always been curious about which unit it represents. If anyone has any information or insights about it, I would really appreciate your help. Thank you!

  1. The patch you received likely represents a unit from the Australian Defence Force, and the eagle with wings spread is a common motif in military insignia. Specifically, it may belong to the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) or a unit associated with airborne operations or air support. The multicam background suggests it could be from a special operations unit or a unit deployed in operational environments where camouflage is essential.

To get a more accurate identification, you might want to consider the following:

    1. Check for any text or numbers on the patch that may indicate the unit’s designation.
    2. Research specific Australian airborne units or those that participated in Exercise Wallaby in 2015.
    3. Visit military forums or reach out to collectors who may have more extensive knowledge of Australian military insignia.

Feel free to share any additional details you might have about the patch!
