Looking for recommendations for an effective cat trap.

Before anyone reacts, I love cats and have one myself. However, I keep mine indoors to protect local wildlife, while some neighbors allow theirs to roam free. Over the past five years, I’ve tried reaching out to them and even borrowed a trap from the Council to return their cat, but no fines were imposed, and it keeps coming back. I’ve had a few close calls, including an incident where it ended up under my car! Every morning I find dead birds, and I often catch this cat on my camera at night, but the rangers haven’t taken any action. The trap I purchased from Pestrol didn’t work at all. Does anyone have a good one they can recommend?

  1. It sounds like you’ve been dealing with a frustrating situation! Finding a reliable cat trap can make a big difference. Many people recommend using humane traps like the Havahart or Tomahawk traps, which are known for their effectiveness and durability. Make sure to check the size; you want one that accommodates the size of the cat you’re targeting.

In addition to choosing the right trap, consider placing it in an area where the cat frequently roams, and use bait that is appealing to them, like tuna or cat food. You might also want to reach out to local animal welfare organizations—they often have resources or may lend out traps. Good luck, and I hope you can get the situation sorted out!
