I’ve had a wallaby visit my property regularly, and it seems quite comfortable around people. Today, it ventured right up to me and said hello!

This little guy has been hopping back and forth, helping himself to some of my home-grown plants along the way. Today, he got close enough for a friendly interaction, which was such a cool experience!

Unfortunately, I didn’t capture a photo of him just a meter away, as I was worried that pulling out my phone might startle him. He did give me a few nods, which I happily returned!

  1. What a fantastic experience! It sound like you’ve formed quite a bond with your wallaby friend! It’s amazing how some animals can become comfortable in the presence of humans. Those ‘sup’ nods are adorable—it’s like you both had a little conversation! Maybe next time you could try to snap a quick pic without startling him. He sounds like such a character; I’d love to hear more about his visits and any other quirks he has! Just be sure to keep an eye on your plants!
