Tips for My Upcoming Trip to Australia
Hi everyone! I’m heading to Australia in September from the southern US, and I couldn’t be more excited! As I plan my two-week itinerary, I’d really appreciate any advice you might have. I’m looking for suggestions on what to avoid, must-do activities, and recommendations for local cafes and restaurants.
Sydney Itinerary:
– Day 1: Arrive in Sydney at 6 AM, check into my hotel, and start exploring The Rocks, CBD, and the Opera House.
– Day 2: Tackle the Coogee to Bondi walk, visit the Icebergs Club for a swim, and maybe take the ferry to Manly before heading to Watsons Bay.
– Day 3: Enjoy a day trip to the Blue Mountains.
– Day 4: Consider a visit to Taronga Zoo; I’m also curious about the Olympic Park—worth it?
– Day 5: Open for suggestions—what should I do?
Melbourne Itinerary:
– Day 6: Fly from Sydney to Melbourne and explore upon arrival.
– Day 7: Discover the CBD in Melbourne.
– Day 8: Take a day trip along the Great Ocean Road.
– Day 9: Still figuring out ideas for this day!
Cairns or Port Douglas?
– Day 10: Fly into either location—any recommendations?
– Day 11: Explore Daintree Forest.
– Day 12: Go snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef.
– Day 13: Consider another snorkeling trip and possibly check out the fishing scene.
Back to Sydney:
– Day 14: Fly back to Sydney.
– Day 15: Head home.
I’m also contemplating a day or two in Hobart, but it might be too ambitious for a two-week trip.
I’m super eager to experience Australia’s stunning beaches, rich history, and vibrant food culture! Please feel free to share any insights you have to maximize my time in your beautiful country. Also, I’d love to learn about any dos and don’ts to avoid any mishaps!
Thanks so much for your help!
