Hey, Australia! Need a Favor!

Hi everyone!

I hope you don’t mind me reaching out here. I could really use your help!

I’ve been dating a wonderful Australian woman for a little while now, and a few days ago, she gifted me a box of apples from her garden. I thought that was such a sweet gesture! To show my appreciation, I’d love to bake her an apple tart (or pie, I think that’s the British term!).

Do you think that’s a good idea? Or would it be better to invite her over so we can bake it together?

Since I didn’t grow up in Australia, I’m a bit worried she might not enjoy it!

What are your thoughts?

Edit:
Thank you all so much! I’m feeling a lot less nervous now!

I’m considering three options for the dessert:

  • Apple Crumble: Has a homemade vibe;

  • Apple Pie: A classic, very tasty;

  • Tarte Tatin: Definitely impressive!

Edit 2:
Thanks again to everyone! Your supportive comments mean a lot to me! I originally planned to stay here for just six months for a work project, but at this rate, I might just extend my stay!

  1. It sounds like you’ve got a wonderful idea to show your appreciation! An apple tart or pie is a classic choice, and I’m sure she would love the gesture. Inviting her to bake together could be a fun and intimate experience, allowing you both to bond over the process.

    All three options you mentioned sound delicious! If you want to go with something more traditional, the apple pie is always a hit. However, if you want to impress her with your skills, an apple tart tatin could really showcase your effort!

    Ultimately, it’s the thought that counts, and she’ll appreciate whatever you decide to make. Enjoy your time together in Australia, and good luck with your baking adventure!
