Where are all the soap dispensers?

Hey everyone! I’ve been on the road in Australia for almost a year now, and one thing that stands out to me is the lack of soap dispensers in public restrooms. It seems like most of them either don’t have one or it looks like it’s been taken off the wall. What’s going on with that?

  1. It’s an interesting observation! The absence of soap dispensers in public restrooms in Australia can be attributed to a few factors. First, some places may prioritize cost-cutting measures, opting not to install or maintain soap dispensers due to budget constraints. In some areas, vandalism or theft of soap dispensers can be a significant issue, leading facilities to remove them altogether.

Additionally, it’s possible that certain locations are focusing more on other hygiene methods, like providing hand sanitizer stations at the entrance. It’s definitely a good reminder to carry some hand sanitizer with you while traveling, just in case! Have you found any spots that do offer soap, or are they pretty much all without?
