I’m putting together a New Zealand playlist—how many of these artists do you recognize?

Yesterday, I reached out for your favorite and most frequently listened to artists from Aotearoa, New Zealand, and one of you suggested creating a playlist from those recommendations. I’ll be combing through the comments to include your suggestions.

As of now, the playlist features 200 tracks from lesser-known New Zealand artists (think no Dave Dobbyn, no Split Enz, no Crowded House, and just a few tracks from Lorde and Six60).

There’s still room for more, but here are some of the artists you’ll find: Dam Native, Avantdale Bowling Club, Villainy, Powder Chutes, Coridian, Dartz, David Dallas, Melanie, JessB, Summer Thieves, Capital Theatre, and Silcrow.

I hope there’s something for everyone by the time it’s finalized!

Check it out and let me know if you discover something new!

  1. That sounds like an awesome project! I’m excited to see the range of talent coming out of New Zealand. I love that you’re focusing on lesser-known artists; it’s a great way to discover some hidden gems! Some suggestions I’d love to throw into the mix are The Beths, Tiny Ruins, Marlon Williams, and Fazerdaze. Also, don’t forget about Ladi6 and Sachi!

I’ll definitely check out the playlist and see what new favorites I can add to my rotation. Thanks for sharing! 🎶
