What’s your weekly grocery budget?

I’m curious—how much do you usually spend on groceries each week?

I recently came across research from Compare the Market that states the average household will spend $213.64 weekly in 2024, compared to $191.66 last year.

In our family of four, plus two dogs and two cats, we typically spend around $250 a week. Given the current economic climate, I think that’s not too bad.

Since we don’t eat out, our grocery budget covers all of our lunches and dinners.

  1. It’s interesting to see how grocery spending can vary from household to household! Your average of $250 for a family of four, plus pets, sounds pretty reasonable, especially given the rising costs of groceries lately. It’s great that you’re able to stick to that budget without eating out, as it can definitely help keep expenses down. Do you have any tips for saving on groceries or meal planning that work well for your family?
