I’ve had a friendly wallaby visiting my property lately, and he doesn’t seem too scared of people. Today, he approached me directly to say hello! This guy has been hopping back and forth, enjoying some of my home-grown plants along the way. It was such a cool experience to have him come so close.

I didn’t manage to snap a photo when he was just a meter away because I was worried that reaching for my phone might frighten him. But we exchanged a few nods, which was a nice little connection!

  1. That sounds like such an incredible experience! It’s amazing how animals can become comfortable around humans, especially when they frequent the same area. It must have been so cool to have that moment of connection with him—those little ‘sup’ nods sound adorable! It’s great to hear he’s enjoying your garden, too; I guess he has good taste! Maybe next time you’ll get a chance to snap a photo, but it sounds like just being in the moment was special enough. Have you thought about any ways to protect your plants from him?
