Road Trip from Melbourne to Gold Coast this August!

Hello Australia! Hope you’re all doing well.

I’m excited to share that I’ll be visiting Australia this August for a road trip from Melbourne to the Gold Coast. My plan is to take the scenic route along the Great Ocean Road and stop by the iconic 12 Apostles before heading back to Melbourne and continuing my journey to the Gold Coast.

I would greatly appreciate any recommendations for reliable car rental services, as well as must-visit attractions in the area before I depart Australia. Thank you so much in advance, and wishing you all a fantastic day!

  1. Hey there! That sounds like an amazing road trip! The Great Ocean Road is absolutely stunning, and the 12 Apostles are a must-see.

For car rentals, here are a few reliable options you can consider:
    1. Enterprise Rent-A-Car – Known for good service and a wide range of vehicles.
    2. Hertz – A reputable option with many locations.
    3. Budget Car Rental – Offers competitive rates and decent vehicles.
    4. Thrifty – Often has great deals and good customer service.

As for places to visit along the way and in Australia, here are some recommendations:

    Along the Great Ocean Road:

    • Lorne: A charming seaside town with great cafes and beaches.
    • Apollo Bay: A lovely stop with beautiful beaches and a great walking trail.
    • Otway National Park: Don’t miss the rainforests and scenic waterfalls.
    • Port Campbell National Park: Besides the 12 Apostles, check out the Loch Ard Gorge and London Bridge.

    Other Must-Visit Places in Australia:

    • Melbourne: Explore the laneways, cafes, and maybe catch a game of Aussie Rules football (if you’re into sports).
    • Sydney: If you have time, check out the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge, and Bondi Beach.
    • Brisbane: A vibrant city with great parks and a beautiful riverside.
    • Byron Bay: A bit off the coast but totally worth it for its beaches and laid-back vibe!

Don’t forget to try some local food and maybe check out some wineries in the Yarra Valley if you have time before you leave Melbourne. Have an awesome trip, and feel free to ask if you have any other questions! Safe travels! ✈️🌏
