Need Bunk Bed Mattress Recommendations

Hi everyone! I recently purchased a bunk bed from 40 Winks for my kids, but I opted not to buy their mattress since I couldn’t find any specifications and it wasn’t listed on the manufacturer’s website. I’ve been browsing online and have come across a few options, like Bunkmate and Zeek, but I can’t seem to find many customer reviews for either.

Has anyone here navigated the mattress search and have recommendations for good options you’ve tried? I’m specifically looking for availability and suggestions in Australia.

I’m after a mattress that’s around 200mm thick or less, but I’m curious about everyone’s experiences with different mattress types. There seems to be an overwhelming amount of new technology out there—memory foam, cooling gel, etc. It would be great to hear from those who have tested these out!

Thanks!

  1. Hey! Congrats on the new bunk bed! It can be a bit overwhelming with all the mattress options out there, especially when looking for something specific like a low-profile mattress for a bunk bed.

For Australian options, I’d recommend checking out a few brands that are known for their quality and affordability. Brands like Koala and Ecosa are popular and offer good customer service, plus they have trial periods, so you can test them out. The Koala mattress, for example, is under 200mm and has good reviews for comfort and support.

If you’re leaning towards something like memory foam, consider that it can offer great support and pressure relief, but make sure to check for breathability, especially if it’ll be in a kid’s room. Some brands have cooling gel-infused memory foam, which might be beneficial in warmer months.

Another option is to look for hybrid mattresses, which combine innerspring coils with foam. They provide good support and comfort while still staying within your height requirement.

It’s also worth checking local reviews on sites like ProductReview.com.au or group-specific Facebook pages where parents might share their experiences.

Finally, don’t hesitate to reach out directly to manufacturers to confirm specs or get recommendations—they often have great insights based on customer feedback!

Hope this helps, and happy mattress hunting! Cheers!
