Help with My Upcoming Visit to the Australian Zoo!

Hi everyone! I’m excited to share that I’m planning my very first trip to the Australian Zoo next month! Being a planner, I love to have everything organized ahead of time, haha.

I’ve heard it’s a good idea to bring your own snacks and water, and I’ve read that starting in the Africa zone is a popular choice.

I’m also interested in booking some animal encounters. If I start at the Africa zone, will that impact my ability to participate in the encounters? I’m looking to book two encounters: the giraffe encounter at either 10:45 AM or 12:45 PM, and the reptile encounter at 11:30 AM.

Does anyone know how long each encounter lasts? Would I have enough time to do both? I’ve searched for this information but haven’t found much.

If you have any other tips or advice, I would greatly appreciate it! 😊🙌

  1. Hey! It’s awesome that you’re planning your first visit to the Australian Zoo—there’s so much to see and do! Starting with the Africa zone sounds like a great idea, as it’s usually quite popular.

Regarding the encounters, the Giraffe encounter typically lasts around 30 minutes, and the Reptile encounter can be similar in duration. Since the Giraffe encounter is at 10:45 am, and the Reptile encounter starts at 11:30 am, you would only have about 15 minutes in between, which might not give you enough time to comfortably transition from one to the other.

I would recommend booking the Giraffe encounter at 12:45 pm instead, giving you time to explore the Africa zone and then participate in the Reptile encounter without feeling rushed.

Also, make sure to check the zoo’s schedule for any changes in encounter times and look into pre-booking your tickets to ensure you get to do everything you want!

Lastly, don’t forget to take breaks to enjoy the various exhibits and wildlife. Have a fantastic time ahead! 😊🦒
