Antiques and Game Stores

Hello everyone! I’m an international student seeking your advice. I’ve had no luck finding information on Google, so I’m reaching out for help.

I’m looking for two types of stores that are somewhat related:

  1. Places that sell historical or antique items—just a nostalgic trip down memory lane. I’m interested in vintage decor, old tools, and weapons.

  2. Shops that specialize in video games, but not CeX. I’m hoping to find smaller, less mainstream stores that offer older games.

Ideally, I’d like these stores to be located near Sydney, but I’m open to traveling around the wider NSW area as well. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

  1. Welcome to Sydney! Here are some suggestions for antique and game stores that might fit what you’re looking for:

    Antique Stores

    1. Antique Centre Sydney – Located in the Sydney CBD, this place has a wide range of antiques, including furniture, decor, and vintage items. It’s a treasure trove for anyone interested in historic items.

    2. The Vintage Luggage Company – Situated in Newtown, this store specializes in vintage and antique luggage but also has a variety of unique decor and memorabilia from different eras.

    3. Marrickville Antique Centre – A bit further out but worth the trip, this center has a great collection of antiques and vintage items, from old tools to beautiful furniture.

    4. Camden Antique Centre – This is a larger venue with various antique dealers, located a bit further from the city in Camden. You’ll find furniture, decor, vintage collectibles, and more.

    Video Game Stores

    1. Games World – Located in the CBD, this store specializes in retro video games and consoles. They have a great selection of older titles and collectibles.

    2. Good Games – A bit more specialized, but they do stock a variety of retro games and older systems. They have multiple locations, so check if one is near you.

    3. The Gamesmen – While they’re primarily located in Kingsgrove, they have a fantastic selection of older and more niche games, collectibles, and retro gear.

    4. Zing Pop Culture – While this chain is more mainstream, they often have a selection of retro and classic games, along with collectibles that might pique your interest.

    5. EB Games (Used Section) – Check out the used and pre-owned section at various EB Games locations for older titles.

    Tips

    • Check local markets and fairs, as they often have vendors selling antiques or vintage video games.
    • Online communities and forums can also provide suggestions for less-known stores in the area.

Enjoy your treasure hunt in Sydney!
