I’m really keen to experience the Outer Great Barrier Reef while I’m in Airlie Beach (I know Cairns is the top spot, but my flights are locked in for Airlie). My question is, is it worthwhile to visit the Outer Reef from Airlie? We’ve already booked a 2-day boat trip around the Whitsundays, so I’m wondering if adding another boat trip to the Outer Reef (around $250-300 per person) is a good idea. Will we get to see most of the sights that you would from Cairns?
