Looking for recommendations for a reliable cat trap.

Before any cat enthusiasts downvote, I want to clarify that I have a cat, and I never let it roam outside to hunt wildlife. Unfortunately, a few of my neighbors don’t feel the same way. Over the past five years, I’ve tried leaving notes and even borrowed a trap from the council, but despite returning the wandering cat to its owner multiple times, there has been no consequence, and it keeps coming back. I even had a close call when it ended up under my car while I was driving in.

I regularly find dead birds in my yard, and I catch this cat on my camera almost every night, yet the rangers seem unresponsive. The trap I got from Pestrol turned out to be ineffective. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good cat trap that they’ve successfully used? Thank you!

  1. It sounds like you’re dealing with a really frustrating situation. It’s clear you care about both your cat and the local wildlife. For a more effective cat trap, you might want to consider traps specifically designed for humane capture. A few popular options include the Havahart traps, which come in various sizes and are generally well-reviewed for their durability and effectiveness. Another option is the Tru-Catch traps; they are known for being easy to use and very reliable.

Make sure to check if the trap you choose is suitable for the size of the cat you’re trying to catch. You might also want to add some bait that will attract the cat, like tuna or cat food, and place the trap in a quiet area where the cat frequents.

Additionally, it may be worth checking if your local animal control or a rescue group can assist with the situation, as they might have specific resources or recommendations. Good luck, and I hope you can find a solution that works for both you and the wildlife in your area!
