Updated Australian Place Names Speller Dictionary for MS Word

I’ve recently revamped the Australian place names speller dictionary that I regularly use with MS Word, and I believe others might find it helpful too. This will save you from having to repeatedly approve unrecognized names or manually add them to your user dictionary.

This latest version is current as of 2025 and features over 76,500 place names sourced from the National Gazetteer of Australia, maintained by GeoScience Australia, covering both the mainland and its offshore territories.

Feel free to download it from my Dropbox: Download Australian Place Names Dictionary (246 kB zip file). You’re also welcome to share it with others!
